Why We Aren't Just Great Apes
Time & Location
17 Oct 2022, 18:00 – 19:00 BST

About the event
Humans are primates and part of the Great Ape family. We share many aspects of our biology with them, yet we are very different in many other respects. I will explore human social, cognitive and neurobiological evolution (without mentioning tools even once....) in order to argue that the major traits that characterise us (language, culture, large social groups, smart cognition) can be understood as a part of a natural continuum within primate social biology.
